My Philosophy
The body has an innate power to heal itself.
Our bodies are constantly working to maintain balance and deal with the toxins and stressors we are exposed to each day. I work to help each client remove dietary obstacles to healing and determine which combination of foods best supports the body, mind, and spirit.
Every body is unique.
I do not subscribe to a “one diet fits all” mentality, or to the notion that weight is an indicator of health. Every body responds to food differently and every person has emotional and cultural connections to the foods they choose to eat. Success in my work is not defined by a number on the scale, but rather by the freedom that comes from breaking the cycle of dieting.
Food is integral to the gut-brain connection.
The gut-brain connection during meal time is vital to the body’s ability to digest and absorb the nutrients in food. Physical and emotional symptoms are direct results of the foods and thoughts we use to nourish our bodies. I help each client implement mindfulness practices and establish consistency in patterns of eating to reconnect with a natural rhythm of hunger and fullness.
