My Philosophy

The mind, body, and emotions are all intimately connected.
The mind-body connection during meal time is vital to the body’s ability to digest and absorb the nutrients in food. Physical symptoms we experience are direct results of the foods and thoughts we use to nourish our bodies.

The body has an innate power to heal itself.
Our bodies are constantly working to maintain balance and deal with the toxins and stressors we are exposed to each day. I work to help patients remove dietary obstacles to healing and use food to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself.

Health can be achieved at any size.
Weight loss does not need to be the focus to achieve and maintain optimal physical health. The best way to improve health is to learn how to respect your body with intuitive eating, joyful movement, and kind thoughts. Success is not defined by a number on the scale, but rather by the freedom that comes with self-acceptance.

Every body is unique.
I do not subscribe to a “one diet fits all” mentality. Every body responds to food differently and everyone has a personal and cultural connection to the food they choose to eat. I work with patients to determine what combination of foods best supports the health of their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Food is vital.
Our bodies cannot survive without food and we engage in eating multiple times a day. Each bite of food we chose to consume influences our health and vitality. I strive to make nutrition an integral part of patient care and help motivate patients to take a mindful approach to what they place on their forks.
